Paving slabs

Paving slabs are a universal building material. Plain and patterned sidewalks, various paths are made of them. Granite paving slabs are indispensable for creating both small yards and full-fledged city squares. This natural granite stone has a beautiful appearance and is distinguished by durability of active use, therefore it is used to create a road and pedestrian surface.

Granite slabs have a number of advantages that have made them so popular in the construction industry:

  • Variety. There are many varieties of granite. They differ not only in color, but also in surface pattern. Thanks to this, granite is used for paving beautiful, patterned paths and squares with various decorative elements.
  • Strength. Granite is one of the strongest natural stones. It has a low level of abrasion, the stone can withstand high mechanical loads. The slabs will not crack even if a tank drives over them. Thanks to this, even after several decades, the granite coating has a completely new look.
  • Durability. Granite does not absorb moisture and is extremely resistant to temperature changes. The stone and its products do not crack or chip even in the harshest climatic conditions. Estimated usage time considering freeze/thaw cycles is early 300 years.
  • Texture. Correctly processed granite has a slightly rough surface. Paving slabs with this texture are best suited for paving, because feet and movable objects will not slide behind it.

The most common size is 30×30 cm. This is due to the relative ease of manufacture – small granite blocks are mined in sufficient quantities in our Ukrainian quarries.

The 20×20 cm format is also popular.

“French paving stones” with chipped edges and a thickness of 5 cm.

Large paving slabs, for example, 60×60 cm, are very effectively combined with small-sized chipped paving stones. Assess how attractive the area is, with the central lines highlighted using large-format slabs. With such a combination, for reasons of durability, it makes sense to use paving slabs of the same thickness as the paving stones.
